December 11th

Sunday 11th December - No competition.

Our 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 7th December was a Single Stableford.  1st Noreen Campbell 21pts, 2nd Mary Traynor 18pts, 3rd Aileen McNamara 15pts.

December 4th

Ladies Awards 2011.  Lady Golfer of the Year, Silver Spoon, Silver Medal, Birdie Tree and Plate Winner - Trish Costello.  Bronze Medal - Marie Costello.  Match play - Winner Ann Marie Kilroy, runner up Noreen Campbell.  Most Improved Golfer - Elaine Donegan.  Masters - Charlene Conwell.  Bella Italia - Marion Kennedy and Tony Byrnes, runners up Jude Byrne and Eddie Costelloe.

Sunday 4th December - No competition.

Our 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 30th November was a Single Stableford.  1st Noreen Campbell 34pts, 2nd Geraldine Stack 28pts, 3rd Aileen McNamara 24pts.

November 27th

Sunday 27th November - Team of 3 with 2 Scores to count.  The winning team with a score of 64pts was Elaine Donegan, Marion Kennedy, Mary Lipper.  Well done to the Ladies who won on count back.

Our 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 23rd November was a Single Stableford.  1st Aileen McNamara 25pts, 2nd Noreen Campbell 24pts, 3rd Mary Traynor 23pts.

November 20th

Sunday 20th November - Team of 3 with 2 Scores to count.  The winning team with a score of 60pts was Jane Kirwan, Trish Costello and Mary Traynor.

Our 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 16th November was a Scotch Foursomes.  The winning pair were Bridie Murphy and Ann Howlett.  Well done Ladies.

November 13th

Sunday 13th November - 13 Hole Single Stableford.  1st Marion Kennedy 28pts, 2nd Mary Traynor 27pts.

Our 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 9th November was a Team of 3 with 2 Scores to count.  The winning team was Aileen McNamara, Sally Laffan and Bridie Murphy.

November 6th

Sunday 6th November - Champagne Scramble:  1st Marion Kennedy, Sarah Vaughan and Therese Clancy 50.9nett.

Our 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 2nd November was a Scotch Foursomes.  The winning pair were Aileen McNamara and Mary Traynor.

October 30th

Sunday 30th October - Team of 3 Scramble:  1st Maura Seymour, Teresa Stack and Marie Costello.

Our 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 26th was a Champagne Scramble.  The winning team was Liz O'Flynn, Mary Traynor and Geraldine Stack.

October 23rd

Sunday 23rd October - 12 Hole Single Stableford:  1st Trish Costello 21pts, 2nd Noreen Campbell 21pts. (after count back)

Our 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 19th October was a Team of 3 with 2 scores to count.  The winning team by a mile was Liz O'Flynn, Bridie Murphy and Mary Traynor.

October 16th

Sunday 16th October - 18 Hole Single Stableford:  1st Elaine Donegan 42pts, 2nd Mary Traynor 33pts.

Our 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 12th October was a Scramble.  The winning team was Ann Howlett, Margaret O'Shea and Eileen Conway.  Well done to Eileen, all those secret lessons in Spain really paid off!

October 9th

With 21 members in Spain we did not have a weekly competition.

Our 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 5th October was a Team of 2.  The winning team was Liz O'Flynn and Geraldine Stack.

October 2nd

Our 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 28th September was a Champagne Scramble.  The winning team was Geraldine Stack, Jackie Ferguson, Judy Purcell and Noreen Campbell.

September 25th

Sunday 25th September - 18 Hole Single Stableford:  1st Jude Byrne 40pts, 2nd Trish Costello 36pts.

Our 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 21st September was a Scramble.  The winning team was Marie Bartlett, Jackie Ferguson and Margaret Holmes.

September 19th

Well done to Marion Kennedy and Sarah Vaughan who have finished 8th at the LGU Peugeot Foursomes in Scotland. Marion and Sarah played at the Eden Course at St. Andrews.  16 Teams from Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales competed in this competition.

September 18th

Lady Presidents Patsy O'Connor's Prize:  18 Hole Single Stableford.  1st Trish Sims 42pts, 2nd Kate Jordan 38pts, Best Gross Shirley Real, 3rd Sheila Manning 36pts, 4th Mary Hogan 34pts, 5th Trish Costello 33pts.  Front Nine: Margaret Healy. Back Nine: Jude Byrne. Visitors Prize: Jo Ahern.  Best 36 handicap: Bridie Murphy. Nearest the Pin: Bridie Murphy. Longest Drive: Trish Costello.  Well done to all the prize winners.  Congratulations to Sheila Manning who had a hole in one on the par 3 15th Hole.

Our 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 14th September was a Champagne Scramble.  The wining trio were Marie Bartlett, Bridie Murphy and Sally Laffan.

Our Fun 9 hole Competition on Tuesday nights has now come to an end.  Thanks to all who supported this competition.

August 28th

Sunday 28th - 18 Hole Single Stableford.  1st Teresa Stack 32pts, 2nd Mary Traynor 29pts.  Well done to Vice Captain Teresa who is playing great golf - keep it up.

Our Fun 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 24th August was a team of 3 with 2 scores to count.  1st Aileen McNamara, Sally Laffan and Noreen Campbell.

Our Fun 9 hole Competition on Tuesday 23rd August was a Greensomes.  1st Esther Green and Margaret Morton.

Well done to Trish Costello and Bunny O'Neill who won the best gross at the South of Ireland Mixed Foursomes in Ballykisteen.

Our Fun 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 17th August was a Champagne Scramble.  1st Ashleigh Leslie, Ann Howlett and Margaret O'Shea.

Our Fun 9 hole Competition on Tuesday 16th August was a Scramble.  1st Trish Costello and Angela Minogue.

August 22nd

Well done to Charlene Conwell and Michelle Glasheen who played in the Australian Spoons Final in Longford Golf Club.  Charlene and Michelle finished 6th with a score of 34pts.

August 15th

Our Munster Cup Team were in action on the 15th also in Fermoy Golf Club.  Our Ladies Team of Maura Seymour, Charlene Conwell and Trish Costello were beaten by the narrowest of margins into second place.  The Ladies had a fantastic score of 221nett.

Well done to our Junior Cup Team who played in Adare Manor Golf Club last on the 15th August.  The team of Chris Woodland, Aileen McNamara and Ashleigh Leslie had a score of 105pts.   They finished 2nd in the Competition.  Ashleigh Leslie had a score of 47pts and won the Individual Event.  Well done to everyone.

August 14th

August 7th

Our August Medal was cancelled due to heavy rain and thunder.  It will be played on August 14th.

July 31st

Sunday July 31st - July Monthly Medal:  1st Mairead O'Connell 64nett, 2nd Shirley Real 68nett.  Well done to both ladies on great scores.

Our Fun 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 27th was a Champagne Scramble.  The winning trio were Jane Kirwan, Orla Finnucane and Marie Bartlett.

Our Fun 9 hole Competition on Tuesday 19th July was a Champagne Scramble which was won by Siobhan O'Grady, Aileen McNamara and Marion Crowley. 

July 18th

Congratulations to Jude Byrne, Mairead O'Connell and Liza Brennock (Mitchelstown) who won the ILGU Charity 3 Ball Team Event in Beaufort Golf Club last Monday.  The Ladies had a fabulous score of 77pts.  Well done.

Well done to Marion Kennedy and Sarah Vaughan who won the Peugeot Foursomes in Ashbourne County Meath with a score of 36pts.  Marion and Sarah are now off to Scotland to represent Rathbane Golf Club.  Well done to both Ladies and best of luck in Scotland in September.

July 7th

Well done to Shirley Real, Charlene Conwell, Michelle Glasheen and Sarah Vaughan who won the Ladies Invitational Team of 4 Competition at Castletroy last Tuesday.  The Ladies had a fantastic score of 97pts.  Well done.

July 3rd

Sunday July 3rd -18 Hole Single Stableford:  1st Aileen McNamara 40pts, 2nd Noreen Campbell 39pts.

Our Junior Foursome Team were in action on Sunday 3rd July in Mallow.  Our team played well but unfortunately were beaten on the day 2/1.  Well done to the team of Trish Costello, Marie Barker, Ann Byrnes, Sheila Manning, Michelle Glasheen and Jude Byrne.  A word of thanks to the managers and supporters.

Our Fun 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 29th was a blind draw.  The format was a team of 3 with 2 scores to count.  The winning team was Jane Kirwan, Bridie Murphy and Elaine Donegan.

Our Fun 9 hole Competition on Tuesday 28th was fiercely fought, the winning trio were Ann Healy, Siobhan O'Grady and Trish Costello.

June 26th

We did not have a weekly competition on Sunday 26th as we had three teams playing in Ennis.

Our teams were in action in the third round of the ILGU Championships on Sunday 26th in Ennis.  Our Intermediate and Challenge Teams lost.  Well done to all the players, mangers, caddies and a big thank you to the supporters.  Our Minor Team did win and will now play in the quarter final in Castletroy on Sunday 10th July.  Best of luck to the team.

Our Fun 9 hole Competition on Tuesday 21st was cancelled due to the rain.

June 20th

Congratulations to Michelle Glasheen and Charlene Conwell who finished 5th (on count back) at the Australian Spoons Qualifier at Nenagh Golf Club.  Michelle and Charlene finished with a score of 38pts.  They will now represent the Club at Co. Longford Golf Club in the National Finals on Monday 22nd August.  Well done and best of luck in the Finals.

June 19th

Solheim Cup Challenge June 14th Cork Golf Club.  Hard luck to Michelle Glasheen, Charlene Conwell and Jude Byrne who missed out by a few shots to progress to the final of this Competition.

Our Miele team were in action last Saturday in Rathbane and East Clare.  Unfortunately the team lost by 2 holes.  Well done to the team of Marie Costelloe, Ann Marie Kilroy, Sarah Vaughan, Marion Kennedy, Ann Byrnes, Chris Woodland, Trish Costello and Noreen Campbell.  A big thank you to the team managers and supporters.

Our teams were in action again on Saturday 28th of May in Newcastle West.  Well done to the Intermediate, Minor and Challenge Cup teams who have now qualified for the 3rd round of the Championships.  The next round is Sunday 26th June in Ennis.  Many thanks to the Managers, Caddies and Supporters.

Our Fun 12 Hole Competition on Wednesday 18th May was won by Bridie Murphy and Marie Bartlett.  The format was a champagne scramble.

Our Fun 9 Hole Competition on Tuesday 17th May was won by Teresa Stack, Aileen McNamara, Kathleen Byrnes. The format was a scramble.

May 17th

The 2011 Solheim Cup Challenge: Well done to Jude Byrne, Charlene Conwell and Michelle Glasheen who qualified for the next round of the Solheim Cup Challenge.  The next round takes place in Cork on June 14th.

May 16th

Miele Competition:  Well done to the Miele Team who won their first match.  Two teams played in Rathbane and two in Ennis. Rathbane now face East Clare in the next round.  Well done to the team of Ann Marie Kilroy, Marie Costelloe, Ann Byrnes, Chris Woodland, Sarah Vaughan, Marion Kennedy, Trish Costello and Noreen Campbell.  Thanks to the Managers at both venues and to the supporters.

May 15th

Sunday 15th May:  18 Hole Single Stableford.  1st Mary Lipper 36pts, 2nd Ashleigh Leslie 33pts.

Our Fun 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 11th May was a Single Stableford.  1st Ann Howlett, 2nd Elaine Donegan, 3rd Angela Minogue.  Well done to Ann who won on the back 3 holes.

Our Fun 9 hole Competition on Tuesday 10th May was won by Trish Costelloe, Dolores McGrath and Orla Finnucane. 

Well done to our teams who played in the ILGU Championships last Saturday 14th May.  Our Challenge Cup Team of Mary Lipper, Aileen McNamara, Marie English, Therese Clancy and Elaine Donegan won their match against Ballykisteen.  Our Minor Team of Marie Costelloe, Mairead O'Connell, Mary Traynor, Chris Woodland and Noreen Campbell won their match against Tipperary.  Both of these matches were played in Kilrush. Our Intermediate Team of Marie Barker, Marie Bartlett, Jude Byrne, Sheila Manning and Trish Costelloe won their match against Charleville.  This match was played in Limerick.  Well done to all the players.  A special word of thanks to the Managers, who did a great job, and to the Men and Ladies who caddied and to the supporters who travelled on the day.  

May 8th

Sunday 8th May:- Australian Spoons.  1st Charlene Conwell and Michelle Glasheen 40pts.  Well done to both Ladies who will now represent the Club in the Area Final in Nenagh Golf Club on Monday 20th June.

Our Fun 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 4th May was a scramble which was won by Marie English, Judy Purcell and Ann Howlett.

Our Fun 9 hole Competition on Tuesday 3rd May, the first of the year was won by Aileen McNamara and Noreen Campbell.

May 1st

Sunday 1st May - May Monthly Medal:- 1st Marie Costelloe 67nett, 2nd Nora Fitzgerald 72nett.  Well done to both Ladies.

Our Fun 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 27th April was a Team of 3 with 2 Scores to count.  We had a great turnout on Wednesday 21 Ladies took part.  The winning team was Aileen McNamara, Margaret Holmes and Mary O'Dwyer.

April 22nd

Munster Junior Championships:-  Well done to Charlene Conwell who played last week in Ballykisteen.  Charlene qualified on Tuesday in the top 32, she then played match play for the next three days.  Charlene won her first and second round matches on Wednesday with scores of 6/5 and 5/4.   The quarter final  went down to the 17th with Charlene winning 2/1.  The semi final again was a close affair but Charlene again won 3/2, both of these matches were played on Thursday.  In the final on Friday, Charlene played Nora O'Connor from Mallow.  Again this was a close affair with Nora winning on the 17th.  Well done to Charlene on a great achievement. 

April 24th

Sunday 24th April, Club Strokeplay:  1st Mary Traynor 70nett, 2nd Sheila Manning 71nett.  Well done to both Ladies on having such fantastic scores.

Our Fun 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 20th April was a rumble.  1st Elaine Donegan, Margaret Holmes and Dolores McGrath.

April 17th

Sunday 17th April, Peugeot Foursomes:  1st Sarah Vaughan and Marion Kennedy 39pts.  Sarah and Marion will now represent the Club at the area final in Ashbourne County Meath.  Well done to both on a great score, some great chipping and putting were on show on the day.

April 10th

March 27th

Sunday 27th March, 18 hole Single Stableford.  1st Trish Costello 41pts, 2nd Noreen Campbell 40pts.  Next Sunday is our April Monthly Medal.  The time sheet is on the notice board.

March 20th

Sunday 20th March, Captain Kieran O'Shea and Lady Captain Noreen Campbell held their drive in.  Thanks to all who supported them on the day.  Our new 9th hole opened for the first time and our Captain Kieran honoured us by being the first golfer to land his ball in the water.  23 teams played a team of 4 scramble with the winners being, John "Bunny" O'Neill, Ian Birchell, Gerry Campbell and Patricia Costelloe with a nett score of 53.7. 

Our Fun 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 16th March was a Champagne Scramble.  1st Charlene Conwell and Eileen Murphy, 2nd Judy Purcell, Margaret Holmes and Mary Hogan.   

March 13th

Our Fun 12 hole Competition on Wednesday 2nd March had a great turn out.  The format was a team of three scramble.  1st Marie Bartlett, Elaine Donegan and Judy Purcell 41nett, 2nd Charlene Conwell, Mo Kelly and Margaret O'Shea 41.8 nett.

February 27th
